Always on alert, Medic’Air International teams are ready to operate within two hours to conduct stabilization and evacuation missions worldwide.
Every single evacuation has to be approved by the supervising doctor on duty prior to take off, with patient’s comfort and safety as a main focus.
Basic Air Ambulance team includes an EMT and a Registered Nurse, both highly experienced and using the latest treatment and diagnostic equipment.
Standard equipment consists in a full resuscitation kit, monitoring equipment, including EtCO2 and blood pssure, two ventilators (one using a multimode turbine), vacuum device, electric syringe pump, vacuum mattress and nursing kit, blood analysis equipment, ultrasonograph…
Additional equipment is immediately available depending on patient’s condition: various kits for management of Malaria, psychiatric issues, burns, chest trauma, sceptic ailments… G-suit, traction splint, extra oxygen conditioned for air transportation.
Labile bloods components (globular Sediments, freeze-dried plasma) and fibrinolytic can be picked up 24/7 from the hospital on the way to the airport.
In case of a highly contagious pathology, BAT (Biorisk Air Transport) protocol is initiated, with immediate addition of an isolation bubble and protection suits to the mission equipment.
If a patient shows a potential risk of cardiovascular or respiratory decompensation during the flight, a cardiovascular surgery team featuring a specialized registered nurse and using specific equipment (Cannulas, portable ECMO device designed for adults and infants…) can be added in order to allow evacuation once extra-corporal circulation has been stabilized.
SMART AMBULANCE SERVICE
In order to respond to the increasing need for emergency evacuations, mainly from Africa towards European hospitals, Medic’Air is proud to introduce its exclusive Swift Medical Acute Response Transport (SMART) protocol, allowing set up of “turn over” flights without any crew rest within two hours, 24/7.
This exclusive service applies to North, West and East Africa, and features a long-range bi-reactor aircraft with the capacity to welcome two patients as well as an additional medical team, which can be made trilingual in case of a request for a Chinese or Japanese speaking team.
